High Prairie Canine Recipe with Roasted Bison & Roasted Venison is rated out of 5 by 37.Rated 5 out of 5 by Dances with wools from My girl loves this My dog was adopted at the age of 4-5 years old from a local high kill shelter. She was not in the best condition. Her coat was bad, and her skin was dry. She had a lot of gum issues too. I originally had her on one of the big name brands but she always seemed to be hungry and gained some weight despite being fed the recommended amounts. The vet recommended a high quality grain free diet. I started feeding this to her. We have tried the other varieties and this and the wild boar one are her favorites. We have been able to control her weight and she is satiated. Her coat is lovely. She is now 7-8 years old and still acts like a puppy.Date published: 2016-12-04Rated 5 out of 5 by AshA from Great for Healthy Weight Gain/Maintenance This food is amazing!! My dog was a stray that had no chips and was SOOO underfed and emaciated. He was skin and bones, each rip could be counted and his hip bones were 100% visible. After some trial and error, messes with food containing corn and research. We stumbled across Taste of the Wild. We slowly weaned him from rice, eggs and boiled chicken to this food, which was the only grain free food I could find with an appropriate amount of fat for an emaciated dog. Within a week he did a COMPLETE 180. He has more energy, his coat was shinier and his bones were slowly disappearing from view. He’s now such a happy and lovable pup and I am forever a fan. Thank you so much!Date published: 2018-03-04Rated 5 out of 5 by SoyEmmett from Helped save my dog's life! When I adopted Emmett, I was told he didn't eat much, if anything. He was extremely thin and fragile, and a very nervous and unhappy dog. It was actually my reason for deciding to adopt him - because I thought I might be able to help. The day he moved in with me - I switched him over to Taste of the Wild, and just like that, he started eating!! From having refused to eat, he started eating like a horse (and he's a tiny dog)! That was step one in his rehabilitation. He has been on Taste of the Wild now for over a year, and he is doing GREAT! Emmett is now a strong, healthy and happy dog, and I honestly believe that getting fed such great food helped him a lot! Thanks so much!Date published: 2017-02-06Rated 5 out of 5 by Photopsych3 Hope from Shelby Snuggleupwithus Approves!! We invited “Clementine” to be a part of our family, she soon became “Shelby Snuggleupwithus.” We soon realized what a special part of our family she had become. Knowing that, we wanted to make sure she stayed healthy and active. We researched dog food and spoke with the local feed store staff. We decided on “Taste of the Wild, High Prairie Canine, Roasted Bison & Roasted Venison.” Shelby Snuggleupwithus cleans her bowl every time. She recently was seen for her check up with her veterinarian, who gave her an “A” grade for being at her ideal weight, healthy coat, and stunning personality! We highly recommend this dog food and plan to continue feeding it to our fury family member.Date published: 2018-02-18Rated 5 out of 5 by RamboTheDog from Rescue dog approved! I love this product and my Belgian shepherd mix loves it even more so! We got him from a rescue who saved him when he was on the brink of death and SEVERELY underweight. The first food I had him on he had lose stools everyday. So immoderately I found this product and switched over. Not only did I see immediate results for his stools firming up but he has also been filling out and gaining muscle mass quickly! He no longer looks so sickly and his fur is as healthy as can be! Unlike before, he now has the energy he needs to play with his friends at the dog park!Date published: 2017-11-01Rated 5 out of 5 by Wolfstar6 from Great food for exotics We switched to this formula of TOW years ago after having excluseivly fed the BARF (bones and raw food) to our high content wolfdogs (77%-99% F1 and F2 , 5 total). The transition those many years ago was easy, and made feeding far less time consuming. We still suppliment with meat, but this food is a primary part of thier diet. They have thrived on this food! Both my wife and I are vet technicians, as well as being active in the rescue community. We highly recommend this food for dogs with high protien requirements, as well as dogs with grain allergies.Date published: 2017-01-04Rated 5 out of 5 by Ktdempsey from Amazing value! We have been feeding our two dogs high prairie for about two years now and they love it. After weeks of painstaking research (since dog food is not FDA regulated) we decided the overall history of the company and quality of the ingredients was superior for taste of the wild. We have two hearding dods, so we went with this higher protein content over the other products and have seen that their coats have become more silky, their teeth and gums are very healthy, and they no longer get sick. We are now switching our cat to taste of the wild as well. Another contributing factor was the reasonable price point. There are many other great brands like Merrick, but they want almost double for the same size bag. This is a great product at a great price point.Date published: 2018-01-01Rated 5 out of 5 by Fran87 from Lifetime customer! Just started feeding TOTW High Prairie last year and my pups love it. My Pit Bull jumps for joy at each meal time. Her shedding decreased and her fur is soft and shiny since switching her. I love the protein and fat ratio, as energetic as she is her muscle mass is being maintained perfectly. Got 2 new pups this year and immediately started their transition to TOTW. They love the taste and I like the fact that the High Prairie formula has multiple meat proteins and it doesn't upset their bellies.Date published: 2017-09-15Would you please tell me what, if any, the sodium content is in this dog food please?
Can this be fed to a 6lb 9week old puppy?
What's the difference between this high prairie canine to high praire puppy formula, since the puppy formula on the feeding guide can still be given to adult dogs? If the puppy formula is formulated to also give to adult dogs, what is this formula for?
What is your sugestion for a hard food for a 8 month old lab mix and 7 year old min pin/min Dotson
Hi, I have a 4-month old english bulldog. Should i give her high prairie puppy variant or high prairie canine variant (for all stages)? I guess im confused why there's a puppy variant if there's already an all life stages variant.
I bought a 12 kg pack but do not see the measure cup . Question is what is the size of the measure cup as this will help me to follow the recommended dosage considering my dog weight.
Suitable for small breed dogs?
