Rated 5 out of 5 by from This food saved a sick pregnant rescue cat! We saved our precious kitty that was abandoned by neighbors and trying to survive in the elements on her own for a couple months. I was finally able to catch her. She was sick and terrified. I got her vet care and put her on this cat food. She stopped having diarrhea, is content, relaxed and finally gaining weight. I highly recommend this food!

What is the serving size in grams?

Asked by: Nycpns
Hello, thanks for reaching out! Our feeding guides are listed on the side gusset of every package as well as on the individual product pages of our website. The amount listed in the feeding guide is the recommended total number of 8-ounce measuring cups (standard kitchen measuring cup), that your pet should eat per day. Since a cup weighs approximately 100 grams, you can take the amount listed in the feeding guide, convert the amount to a decimal number and then multiply that amount by 100 to get the recommended number of grams to feed per day. Please know, feeding amounts can be adjusted based on the age, breed and activity level of your pet. If you have any questions or need help determining how much to feed your pet, please feel free to reach out to us and/or speak with your veterinarian. Seeing a lot of reports the past few days - FDA saying there's evidence of grain-free foods causing heart problems in dogs, but they have not recalled any food - Taste of the Wild is #3 on the list of 16 foods (I believe). We've been feeding for 8+ yrs.

Asked by: Lisa
Hello, Lisa and thanks for reaching out. Like the FDA and pet owners like you, we are concerned about the reported cases of dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) in dogs that are not genetically predisposed to the condition. Throughout their studies, though, the FDA still has not found any science-based causes to link grain-free diets — including Taste of the Wild — to DCM; therefore, there are no recalls. As they note, it is a complex issue with numerous factors to consider, such as breeds that have a genetic predisposition for developing DCM. We continue to monitor this issue closely and support ongoing research efforts, because our top priority is, and always will be, to provide pets with quality, safe food that meets all federal and state regulatory guidelines. Based on information collected by the FDA, they do not believe the foods need to be removed from the market.

My cat should weigh about 4kg but weighs 6.5kg. Should I feed her according to her existing weight or her ideal weight? We are trying to help her lose weight.

Asked by: Tyty
Hello, thanks for contacting us! In order to lose weight, your cat’s total caloric intake will need to be decreased. As a general guideline, we recommend feeding 10-20% less than the amounts listed in the feeding guide for your pet’s current weight as a starting point. We also recommend consulting with your veterinarian to help you find the most appropriate diet based on your cat’s individual needs.
