Canyon River Feline Recipe with Trout and Salmon in Gravy is rated out of 5 by 33.Rated 5 out of 5 by Evie from Getting my older cat to eat better After a long move East, my older cat developed a respiratory infection. I almost lost him but with the great help of a vet, he survived! Now my problem was getting weight back on him. He lost about 8 pounds and was basically skin and bones. I tried several high priced no grain products but, he just wouldn't eat like he use to. I purchased Taste of the wild and gladly teared up as he licked the food up! I started him out slowly so not to upset his digestion system from not consuming enough food but he refused to quit begging for more. I know that it won't be long before he puts the weight back on!!!!!! I am also noticing his activity level is increasing! I can not thank you enough for this WONDERFUL product! I recommend it to anyone who has a picky eater!Date published: 2019-05-07Rated 5 out of 5 by Nick from Gone in 10 minutes I've written a review for the dry variety of this, but seeing as I've now given some wet food as well I feel I should review that too. My cat will meow at me if I even hold a can, let alone open it. I put it in a paper bowl to keep his food dish dry, so he'll push it around the kitchen eating it. It's more a weekend treat and he knows it. But really, it's reliably good quality and he enjoys it.Date published: 2018-12-01Rated 5 out of 5 by Siamese from My cat My cat was having trouble going to the bathroom & I was trying to find a cat food, which was Organic & had No Artificial Preservatives, No Artificial Colors, No Artificial Flavors. That's "NOT" an easy task, for animal or human food, etc.! There are words which mean the above, but the fronts & small prrint on lables claim to be free of the above. You "ALWAYS" need to "CAREFULLY READ" all ingreidents in the "INGREIDENTS LABLE". A Food Ingreidents Lable should "NEVER CONTAIN" the words "ENRICHED", "BLEACHED", "REDUCED CALORIE" OR "LOW FAT"! I had come across Taste of the Wild (was using dry food then) & liked the ingredients & bought it (I always bought the big bag, ("WHICH ISN'T LOCATED WITH THE SMALL BAG"). Gave it to my cat & after eating it for a couple of days, started being able to go to the bathroom again. It's higher priced than some brands (but "not as high" as others), but worth the price, if you have the money. Taste of the Wild Dog & Cat Food can be purchased @ Tractor Supply. If you do not have one close to you, you could always go to there website & they do have a Facebook page. Thank you to the makers of Taste of the Wild!!Date published: 2018-11-02Rated 5 out of 5 by Bellasera507 from Trout & Salmon in gravy - better than catnip! My sisters and I get to go shopping with our mom either on line or sometimes in person. We always ask her to buy Taste of the Wild with Salmon and Trout with gravy. Who doesn't like gravy right! She hasn't given us our own credit card yet but we can tell you this can is purr-fect for us and for your cats too. It is like dining at your favorite feline river front cafe without ever having to leave your home! We are even more crazy for this than catnip!Date published: 2022-04-25Rated 5 out of 5 by kaylee8 from Our cats go Wild for this! We found Taste of the Wild - Canyon River Feline Recipe when we were looking for something different to tempt our Senior kitty, Molly, to eat. She is almost 14 and her appetite isn't always the best. She loves the taste of the trout and salmon and is especially fond of the gravy. We have also started using this for our other two kitties, Mo and Bitty, who enjoy it equally as much.Date published: 2022-04-26Rated 5 out of 5 by Carrie from One of the only chicken-free (ish) wet foods I have a cat with a substantial chicken intolerance, who also needs to be on wet food to prevent UTIs. Due to this, both she and her sister have to be on a chicken-free diet, just in case they “share” (ie, steal each other’s food). While there is some chicken fat in it, cat 1 tolerates it very well. Both of them love this food, though it’s always the gravy that goes first! The company’s dry Canyon River is also a hit to help round out their diet. Right now, it’s on back order- I hope that doesn’t mean they’ve stopped making it!Date published: 2021-06-02Rated 5 out of 5 by Bae bae from Deliciousness for my queen I purchase this by the case so my queen cat can have it every day with ancient grain dry food. For picky eaters this is a must try!All the nutrients are in it, tasty flavor providing everything she needs. Her furry coat is shiny smooth and her eyes bright. Her stool is firm and always gets flying colors from the vet! Thank you!Date published: 2023-04-02Rated 5 out of 5 by Jconner73 from Momo loves Tasting the Wild! But after that, she appears to like only the gravy and will leave most of the chunks. Any solution to this? It's too tough for me to mash it up for her. Any suggestions? Thanx
I hope you're still following this thread. I bought Taste of the Wild for my cat diagnosed with megacolon. She loved the gravy, wouldn't eat the chunks, so I got a bright idea. If you have a NutriBullet blender, put one entire can of the cat food in, also about 1/3 cup canned organic pumpkin, also one small jar chicken flavored baby food, and some chicken broth (specially for cats, no salt, onions, etc.). Blend the whole works - it comes out a pureed, putrid dark yellow color, but my kitty LOVES the stuff and it's now the mainstay of her diet. Good Luck.Date published: 2018-07-28What is the Vitamin D and Vitamin D3 percentage of one can? Does it meet recommended daily requirements for grown cats?
